Although idea seems to be good but many questions still left unanswered , Like What is the relevance of graduation subjects? means it is waste to study subjects in graduation.
Isn’t above mentioned pattern beneficial for Arts and Commerce aspirants ?

  • vishal

this is a very good move. i hope this is implemented in 2013 itself.
the present system is full of inconsistencies. having same paper for all by removing optionals gives level playing field to everyone.

very good change and it is a welcoming step

  • ram kripal yadav

These steps of upsc should be done in about 2006, because the societies became more reformed , the old pattern tests only the memory grasping power, not about their perceptions about the civic condition of our society,it helps emergence of relieving mechanism for our countries peoples instead of fiefdom, the technological advancement also tanging the society .then it is very precious to mould it for country benefits. but upsc late step…., but it is good step and will help to make a good india.

how does this test understanding? the subjects introduced would still test the grasping power ..nothing else…

  • Roy A

It would be a relief, if it gets implemented. A perfect balance of the necessary subjects required for good understanding of a Country’s needs.
