The Institute is looking for suitable Indian Nationals for appointment, on contract/deputation basis, for the following posts at Serial No. 1 to 14. The appointment shall initially be on contract for a term of 5 years. Thereafter, it may be regularized, or renewed on similar term(s) or terminated. The age of superannuation for Registrar is 62 years and for the posts from Serial No. 2 to 14 is 60 years.

Retired people (up to age 62 years) may be considered on Contract on Ad hoc basis and they can serve up to 65 years
The qualifications & experience for the above post(s) are as under:
Post 1. Registrar- Upper age limit is preferably below 55 years as on 01-10-2012
Job Description: The Registrar of the Institute is the custodian of records, the common seal of the Institute. He/ She is the Secretary of the Board of Governors, Senate and Finance Committee. He/ She is required to provide administrative support to the Director. Besides statutory responsibilities he/she would be expected to participate in decision making process at conceptual level. He/She should have initiative, drive and wide ranging experience in all aspects of academic administration.
Essential:
(1) A Post graduate degree with at least 55 % marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in UGC 7 point scale with good academic record from High school and onwards (2) 15 years of administrative experience, out of which 8 years as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post in a research establishment or other institutions of higher education. (3) Should have effective communication skills in English (written, spoken), computer application abilities.
Desirable: Proven ability of administering, preferably in a large educational or research institution, with additional degree in Law/ Management.
Accommodation: License fee free unfurnished accommodation as available on the campus will be provided. Staying on campus is compulsory.
Post 2. Deputy Registrar- Upper age limit is preferably below 50 years as on 01-10-2012
Essential:
(1) A Postgraduate degree with at least 55 % marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in UGC 7 point scale with good academic record from High school and onwards.
(2) At least 09 years of experience in educational administration or Comparable experience in research establishment or other Institute of higher education or 5 years of administrative experience, as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent post c) Should have effective communication skills in English (written, spoken), computer application abilities.
Desirable: Candidates should have leadership qualities and requisite experience in one or more of the following areas: Accounting, Auditing and Financial procedures, OR Administrative matters including Legal, Recruitment, Establishment, OR Academic matters such as conduct of examinations, maintenance of student records, award of scholarships, degree etc., OR Materials Management, Procurement/Distribution of materials, import procedure/ stores accounting, stock verification, etc. Practical experience of using relevant software’s in related areas is essential.
Post 3. Placement Officer – Upper age limit is preferably below 50 years as on 01-10-2012
Essential: (a) A Postgraduate degree with at least 55 % marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in UGC 7 point scale with good academic record from High school and onwards. (Preference will be given to degree in Management) from a recognized University/ Institute. (b) 09 years experience in placement related work, out of which 05 years should be in a senior level position with reputed academic institutes. (c) Should have effective communication skills in English (written, spoken), computer application abilities.

Post 4. Assistant Registrar-Upper age limit is preferably below 45 years as on 01-10-2012
Essential:
(a) A Post graduate degree with at least 55 % marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in UGC 7 point scale along with good academic record from High school and onwards
(b) Minimum 05 years of experience in one or more of the following areas. Academics, Administrative matters including Legal, Labor Relations & Laws, Recruitment, Establishment, Estate Management of which, at least, 02 years should be in a Supervisory/Superintendent capacity in Group “B” in a Government, Semi. Government, Financial/Commercial organization, reputed recognized department or University/Technological Institution of national standing etc. or Educational or Research Institute.
(c) Should have effective communication skills in English (written, spoken), computer application abilities.

Post 5. Assistant Registrar (Secretary to the Director)-Upper age limit is preferably below 45 years as on 01-10-2012
Essential:
(a) A Post graduate degree with at least 55 % marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in UGC 7 point scale along with good academic record from High school and onwards
(b) Minimum 05 years of experience in one or more of the following areas. Office Management, Secretarial Practices, Office Co-ordination Management, Establishment, Estate Management, at least, 02 years should be in a Supervisory/Superintendent capacity in Group “B” in a Government, Semi. Government, Financial/Commercial organization, reputed recognized department or University/Technological Institution of national standing etc. or Educational or Research Institute.
(c) Should have ability to independently handle official correspondence, draft letters, minutes of meetings, communication with external agencies etc. and Proficiency in English. Good Knowledge of Computer Applications/ MS Office.

Post 6. Assistant Registrar (Audit & Accounts) – Upper age limit is preferably below 45years as on 01-10-2012
Essential:
(a) A Post graduate Commerce degree with at least 55 % marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in UGC 7 point scale along with good academic record from High school and onwards
(b) Minimum 05 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Accounting, Financial Procedures and Audit of which, at least, 02 years years in Finance & Accounts/ Audit experience in supervisory level in major educational or R&D Institute, Public Sector Undertaking, Government, Commercial Organization or Industry, Computer work proficiency will be preferred.
(c) Candidates should have a sound knowledge of Central Rules relating to Accounts/Audit, Service Conditions, Treasury and Financial Rules.

Post 7. Assistant Placement Officer- Upper age limit is preferably below 45 years as on 01-10-2012
Essential: (a) A Post graduate degree with at least 55 % marks or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in UGC 7 point scale along with good academic record from High school and onwards (Preference will be given to degree in Management) from a recognized University/ Institute. (b) Minimum 05 years of experience in placement related work with reputed academic institutes. Post 8. Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) – Upper age limit is preferably below 45 years as on 01-10-2012
Essential: First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engg. from a reputed, recognized Institute with 5 years relevant experience.
Desirable: Experience in electrical wiring for large buildings, distribution of power on O.H. lines and underground cables and erection and maintenance of Sub-station Equipments in large Industry or similar educational complex. Preference will be given to the candidates who have worked as Assistant Engineer and have computer literacy and experience of working in a computer environment.
Post 9. Senior Technical Superintendent- Upper Age limit is preferably below 45 years as on 01-10-2012
Essential: M.Tech/M.Sc. Degree in Geo-informatics/Remote Sensing/Civil Engineering/Electronics and Communication with minimum of 60% marks and 02/03 years experience in handling DGPS/GPS, Total Station, Auto Level, GIS based software-Arc GIS, Image processing software-ERDAS, AutoCAD etc. OR B.Tech /BE Degree in Geo-informatics/Remote Sensing/Civil Engineering/Electronics and Communication with minimum of 60% marks and 04years experience in handling DGPS/GPS, Total Station, Auto Level, GIS based software-Arc GIS, Image processing software-ERDAS, AutoCAD etc.
Desirable: Experience in handling laboratory in an educational institute/managing duties of R & D laboratory/handling responsibilities in research organization, ability to diagnose faults in Windows and Linux systems, experience of maintenance of hardware, installation of software at different platforms.
Post 10. Junior Technical Superintendent- Upper Age limit is preferably below 40 years as on 01-10-2012
Essential: B. Tech. /BE Degree in Electronics and Communication/ Civil Engineering/ Chemical Engineering with minimum of 60 % marks with 02 years of relevant experience OR Diploma in Electronics/ Civil Engineering/ Chemical Engineering with minimum 60 % marks with 04 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of computer applications
Desirable: Experience in handling laboratory in an educational institute/ R & D laboratory/ research organization. Experience of maintaining stock register of lab equipment, inventory of laboratory equipments/conducting laboratory practical exercises in the field. Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems. Should be able to do fault diagnosis in laboratory equipment. Aptitude for hands- on work in laboratory environment.
Post 11. Junior Superintendent- Upper Age limit is preferably below 40 years as on 01-10-2012
Essential:
(a) Bachelor’s Degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade from a recognized University/ Institute along with a good academic record from High School and onwards in any discipline with 05 years relevant experience in report drafting/ accounts/ audit/ purchase/ administration/ academics in a University/ Govt./ Public/Limited Company of repute.
(b) Working knowledge of central govt. rules applicable in autonomous bodies
(c) Knowledge of computer applications.
(d) Good Communication & report drafting skills
(e) Proficiency in English.
Desirable: Independently handle office management activities.
Post-12. Assistant (Store & Purchase)- Upper Age limit is preferably below 40 years as on 01-10-2012
Essential:
(a) Bachelor’s Degree with at least 55 % marks or its equivalent grade from a recognized University/ Institute along with a good academic record from High School and onwards.
(b) A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Stores & Purchase in a Government Department or University/Educational or Research Institute. Candidates should have a sound knowledge of Central Rules relating to Customs, Excise, Sales Tax, and Import & Export.
Post 13. Junior Assistant- Upper Age limit is preferably below 32 years as on 01-10-2012
Essential: Bachelor’s degree with at least 55% marks and relevant experience of 02 years.
Desirable: (i) Knowledge of Computer office applications, proficiency in office applications like Word, Excel etc. (ii) Ability to independently draft simple and routine letters in English as well as Hindi. (iii) Familiarity with e-mail and general internet surfing operations. (iv) Good communication and report drafting skills.
Post 14. Junior Mechanic- Upper Age limit is preferably below 32 years as on 01-10-2012
Essential: Diploma in Engineering of 03 years duration in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/Chemical Engineering field, or ITI with 02 years experience. Knowledge of computer application
Desirable: Diploma in Electronics with 02 years experience/certification in fabrication, or electrical circuits / power system / power electronics / measurements / instrumentation, controls, electrical machines/semi-conductor devices
Important information/conditions/ instructions:
a) All application full in 1st instance.
b) The posts for Rae Bareli Centre are not transferable between RGIPT Rae Bareli and Assam Centers.
c) The institute reserves the right to place a reasonable limit on the total number of candidates to be called for test or interview. Fulfillment of qualifications per-se does not entitle a candidate to be called for test or interview. The institute reserves the right not to fill up the posts, cancel the Advt. in whole or in part without assigning any reason and its decision in this regard shall be final.
d) The Institute reserves the right to relax age/qualifications/experience in exceptional cases, or in case of person already holding analogous positions in a university/research institution/industry etc, especially those meeting desirable qualifications.
e) Relaxation in age for jobs reserved for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Serviceman/Departmental candidate/Govt. Servants will be as per Government of India Norms
f) The institute reserves the right to rectify any discrepancy in the grade pay, pay band etc.,if found later on.
g) Not all the positions are likely to be filled in the first instance. In some cases, if a senior position is filled, the junior position may not be filled in or vice versa.
h) All educational degrees have to be from Government institutions or those approved by competent government authorized bodies, such as AICTE, UGC etc. as applicable. These approvals must be in place when the degree was awarded as well as when the application is made for a job at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Raebareli. Appropriate approval reference details should be mentioned.
i) The institute reserves the right to reject any or all the applications without assigning any reasons thereof.
j) For appointments, preference will be given to Physically Handicapped candidate(s), even where the reservation is not marked and suitable PH candidates are available.
k) Candidates belonging to reserved category are required to attach caste certificate in the format as prescribed by the Govt. of India. The Institute follows the Central list in the case of SC/ST & OBC.
l) If a Candidate applies for more than one post, he/she will have to fill separate application form for each of the applied posts and submit a separate bank draft for each post.
m) Candidates serving in Government/University/Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous bodies must apply ‘through Proper Channel’. However, they may send an advance copy of their application form before the last date of submission of application form. They will be required to produce ‘No Objection Certificate ‘at the time of their interview failing which they will not be interviewed. Those who apply for appointment on deputation terms should submit the application along with attested copies of their confidential reports for the preceding five years.
